KIDS BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU PROGRAM
Welcome to the Gracie Barra Katy Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Program!
We welcome kids ages three to thirteen to learn the most effective self-defense martial art system ever created. Your child will receive certified Gracie Barra Black Belt instruction, personally overseen by Head Instructor and third degree Black Belt Professor Ted Stickel. Our classes are based on the curriculum developed by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and will instill discipline, focus, and self-confidence in every child.
Here is a description of the programs we offer and a class schedule:
Little Champions (3 – 6 years old)
The Little Champs class is taught by Professor Ted Stickel and Professor Chris Mango three times a week. In this class, your child will learn the very basics in all elements of Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Every class is 45 minutes long and designed to move at a pace designed to maintain student attention and participation.
A typical class consists of a thorough warm up, a self-defense technique, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Technique, closely monitored live training, and an exercise based game. This class is a fantastic and fun way to provide your child with structure, discipline, exercise, and social interaction.
Juniors (7 – 13 years old)
The Juniors Class is taught by Head Instructor Ted Stickel four times a week and is co-instructed by Professor Chris Mango. The curriculum for this class fully prepares your child in self-defense and competition Brazilian Jiu Jitsu while molding their character with discipline and focus. Students will also learn the history and heritage of Gracie Barra and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as the importance of maintaining physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The Juniors class is also the beginning of each students journey into the offensive submission and submission defense element of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
